KPF Receives the Minister’s Commendation for Excellence in Mid-Sized Enterprise Innovation
KPF Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Song Moo-hyun and Kim Hyung-no) announced on the 18th that it was awarded the Minister
of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Commendation in the Innovation Growth Company category at the 10th Annual
Mid-Sized Enterprise Day, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute
for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises.
Launched last year, the Mid-Sized Enterprise Innovation Awards aim to recognize outstanding companies that
drive innovation, promote job creation, enhance customer value, and contribute to social impact through cooperative
growth. This year marks the second installment of the awards.
KPF was selected based on its exceptional performance in the following key evaluation criteria:
▶ Contribution to national industrial development
▶ Growth in export performance
▶ Impact on quality of life
▶ Technological capabilities
▶ Investment in R&D and employment growth
▶ Discovery of new growth drivers and job creation
As Korea’s No.1 industrial fastener manufacturer, KPF localized the TC (Tension Control) Set, which was previously
reliant on Japanese imports in the early 1980s, significantly improving construction quality and efficiency in Korea.
By doing so, KPF has long supported various upstream industries as a foundational part of the nation's industrial base.
In recognition of its strong global presence, KPF received the USD 100 Million Export Tower Award in 2012 for surpassing
that milestone in annual exports, thereby contributing to Korea’s trade surplus.
More recently, the company has developed advanced fastener products, including the KPF S10T Plus, which features
enhanced slip resistance in wet environments, and the ultra-high-strength KPF 14.9 Plus series. These innovations
highlight KPF’s commitment to high-performance technology and product excellence. KPF is also accelerating its
Digital Transformation (DX) through the implementation of smart factory systems and automation equipment,
reinforcing its position as a forward-looking manufacturing leader.
In addition to its technological and industrial achievements, KPF has actively contributed to the local economy
around its Chungju plant. The company prioritizes hiring local talent, provides regular support to community
organizations such as Chungju Nanum’s House, and collaborates with local businesses to stimulate the regional
economy. These efforts, along with a stable labor-management relationship and active job creation, were key factors
in its award recognition.
KPF CEO Kim Hyung-no remarked, “It is a great honor to receive the Minister’s Award at the Mid-Sized Enterprise
Innovation Awards. We will continue to embody an entrepreneurial spirit of continuous innovation, while also leading
the way in social contribution and sustainable, collaborative growth.”
